Happy New Year

A brand new year has arrived.

You can’t have missed it – New Year’s is second only to Christmas when it comes to hype, to marketing, to pressure. Everyone from car dealers to health clubs to your salon is telling you – via television, radio and social media – to make this your best year EVER! To make this the year that you lose weight, fall in love, buy that luxury car, visit Nepal, learn Japanese, start a skincare regimen, cut your hair short, become a gourmet cook…

Make no mistake about it, here at CIGC, we love the idea of change. We delight in the concept of possibilities. We exist to help you make your life better and easier; to help you make and navigate changes. We also love a good New Year’s resolution. We just see them a little differently.

What if, in this brand new year, you resolved not to do something new – not to change – but instead, to find a way to embrace and accept the changes already at work in your life? What if, in this glorious new year, you made peace with the changes in your life that already exist – the good ones and the bad ones, the ones you wanted as well as the ones you didn’t? What if this could be the year that you made peace with the many ways in which your life looks different than you expected it to look? What if you could find a way to celebrate the unexpected changes – and challenges – that have brought you here today?

Is the New Year a perfectly good time to bring new changes to your life? Of course it is. We have the freedom to change, to rebuild, revise, renew ourselves and our lives any -and every – day of the year. What an incredible gift. What a powerful idea.

If there is a fierce desire for change in your heart then by all means, let the ringing in of a New Year be the motivation you need to undertake that journey. But for those who have faced another New Year’s Day wishing for stasis, not shifts, let this also be your year. Find the desire in your heart to be able to reflect upon the changes in your life with peace. Let this be the year that you appreciate the many ways in which change brings wisdom, understanding and the insights you’ll need to navigate the many changes still ahead.

Whether you’re starting something new or finding the courage to face an existing change or challenge, here are a few tips to get you started:

  • Start from a place of love. Nothing joyful or lasting was ever created from a place of obligation, fear or punishment.
  • USE YOUR TOOLS!  You don’t take a road trip without supplies. Whichever journey you’re embarking on this year, Tools For Life is your navigation system to get you where you are going – and to keep your spirit fed and watered along the way.
  • Get support. It doesn’t matter what you’ve been told – no one who succeeds ever goes it alone. You don’t have to either. It doesn’t have to be so hard.  CIGC and Tools For Life can help.

Helping you make and embrace change is what we do – it’s why we are here. Let us be your pit crew on this journey. Call CIGC today.

Wishing you a healthy, happy, dynamic New Year, from all of us at CIGC.
